Our Community Impact
The Diversity Den Society and it Social enterprise cafe & shop were founded early 2025 and began operations on Aug 1st, 2025. Read below how this little grassroots, trendsetter charity has made a huge impact for many community members in the North Okanagan!
We recognize that one of the greatest barriers to employment is not a person's diverse-ability, but years of internalized messages that they are a burden, an inconvenience, or somehow less deserving of opportunity or even the space they occupy.
Through supportive mentorship, meaningful work experience, and inclusive community, participants are encouraged to recognize their inherent value, develop confidence in their abilities, and know that they have every right to occupy space and recognize that they deserve to be seen, heard, and included as equal members of their workplace and community.
